Registration is easy

Little Athletics is available to children aged between 3 and 17 years. Age groups for the 2023-24 season can be found in the below chart.

You can register online through the Little Athletics ACT (LAACT).

When you have completed the registration of your child, you will receive an email receipt. Bring a copy of your receipt, along with proof of age for new athletes to collect your child’s registration pack which will include their unique Little Athletic’s registration number and age patch. You can buy your QLAC competition shirt at the same time (NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE). That’s where the number goes and it must stay with that athlete – it is their personal number. The shirt must be worn at ACT competitions.

Little Athletics clubs are organised and run by parents to benefit their children. We all want them to thrive, to take on new personal challenges and succeed, to develop physically as well as mentally and emotionally. And we want them in a supportive and well-structured environment.

The registration fee for your child covers a number of costs. The largest component of the fee ($120) goes to Little Athletics ACT as part of the affiliation requirements. For this, QLAC receives the online registration system, athlete insurance, insurance against loss of equipment, and training for coaches and officials. This also allows all our athletes to compete in the regional and state competitions, and should they be very successful (and we have athletes who are) they can go on to national and international competitions. The QLAC portion of the registration fee covers athlete use of the online results system, equipment costs, field hire, utilities, and more. Our margins for viability are quite fine and parents helping on the committee and on the field are the reason the club continues.

It’s important to remember that if your athlete’s registration is not complete, and paid for, they will not be covered by insurance, they will not receive their unique registration number that allows their personal records to be kept by the timing system, and they will not be able to compete as a QLAC Little Athlete in regional competitions.

Athletes MUST be registered by week 3 (unless otherwise arranged with the committee) or they will not be able to compete.
